எந்த நாளுக்கும் தமிழ் மாதமும் தேதியும், அன்றைய திதியும் நட்சத்திரமும். சூரியன் அடுத்த ராசியில் நுழையும் நேரம் சூரிய மறைவுக்கு முன் என்றால் அன்றே மாதப் பிறப்பு; பின் என்றால் மறுநாள்.
The Tamil month and date for any day, with that day’s tithi and nakshatra. When the Sun enters the next sign before sunset, the month begins that day; after sunset, it begins the next day.

Method: thirukkanitham (modern astronomical positions), Lahiri ayanamsa, Indian Standard Time. Vakya panchangams can differ slightly on some month beginnings and tithi times; for temple festivals, follow your own panchangam.

Thiruvalluvar year = Common Era year + 31, turning on Thai 1. The Tamil year name comes from the sixty-year cycle and turns on Chithirai 1 (usually 14 April).
